Service Opportunity Details: Crisis Line Volunteers are responsible for answering the crisis line, completing clear intakes for
callers who are eligible for WINGS services, and providing referrals to callers who would be more appropriate for another program. Volunteers also greet staff, other volunteers, and service providers who come to the door and maintain overall operation of the Safe House. Volunteers also interact with clients as they come in and out and by providing basic services duringtheir stay.

Location: Northwestern suburban Chicago and Midway Airport area in WINGS Domestic Violence Safe Houses

Volunteer Ages: Adults

Frequency: On-going

Frequency Details: Volunteers are expected to commit to at least 3 hours a week for at least 1 year. Most volunteers come once a week for a 3- 4 hour shift between 8am and 7pm. Occasionally, other timeslots may be available. Additional time is required in the beginning for training.

Other Information: Requirements: Completion of the 40 Hour Domestic Violence Training provided by WINGS 3 times a year.
A certificate will be provided after completion of 75 hours of volunteering; A willingness to keep the location confidential; Any personal experience with domestic violence should be more than two (2) years prior to applying for this volunteer opportunity.
