Types of Help Needed: Activities with Agency Clients

Service Opportunity Details: Direct Service Volunteers work with staff as a team to provide comprehensive direct service to women and children served by CAWC’s Greenhouse Shelter. This work includes assisting with shift coverage and maintaining safety of the shelter facility, facilitating cooperative living among the residents, responding to hotline calls, and children’s services including coordinating group recreational and educational activities for the children.

Location: Chicago

Volunteer Ages: Young Adults, Adults

Frequency: On-going

Frequency Details: A 6 month commitment of 4 hours per week (16-20 hours per month) is required.

Other Information: Direct Service Volunteers are required to complete a 40-hour Domestic Violence Training Program, which is offered a couple times a year to new volunteers.
