Service Opportunity Details: Volunteers needed to serve as academic tutors and activity leaders in their elementary afterschool programs. Activities may include providing tutoring during homework hour or leading an enrichment group, based on the volunteer’s professional skills or personal hobbies.

Location: Evanston

Frequency Details: Volunteers are expected to commit to at least 4 hours per week, during our afterschool program, approximately 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Our afterschool program follows the academic year, running from September, 2017 to May, 2018.

Service Opportunity Details: Volunteers needed to come to one of Umoja’s schools and conduct mock interviews with high school seniors. This is an opportunity for seniors to practice presenting themselves in a professional way and to work on their verbal interviewing skills.

Frequency Details: “Senior Day of Action” events happen two to four times per year at our Seminar partner schools. The agency provides lunch for volunteers at these events and they are usually asked to volunteer for 5 hours.

Service Opportunity Details: KUC has Mission Trip groups that travel to Haiti and perform tasks that need to be done at the Agency. Recent trips have involved painting, construction, and art class instruction.
