We all know parenting teens and young adults are a far cry from arranging play dates, helping with homework, and teaching The Lord’s Prayer. It is a time when powerful social and cultural currents can seem to override God’s power to anchor our lives.

It has been my joy to minister to teens and young adults for over a decade and while young people have been the focus, I enjoy sharing God’s grace and wisdom with parents too.  So parents, let’s have coffee!

Parent Coffees are a casual meet-up time of coffee and conversations. We can address questions about church, school, social lives, habits, illnesses, and addictions. We can share concerns and pray for one another. We can celebrate milestones. There is so much to talk about!

Three Parent Coffees are scheduled each month through May. The first is Friday, January 25 from 8:30–9:30 a.m. at Peet’s Coffee in Winnetka. After that, meet at the following locations 8:30–9:30 a.m.

*** Single Parents! Being a single parent comes with its own special challenges. I know from first-hand experience! So single parents, first Fridays at the Rock House are just for you!

Spot the blue laptop and you will find me!  Please come over even if I am not alone. You are invited! Of course I am available to chat with you one-on-one at other times and places too. Or I can come early if you need to catch a train. Feel free to reach me by email, phone, or text.
