By the Reverend Dr. Jo Forrest
“Yoho” is a Cree expression of awe and wonder and the closest way a word can describe the visceral experience when you see what God created on the western slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Please join us for a walking and hiking trip through forests to gaze at glaciers and waterfalls and marvel at jewel toned mountain lakes—to let go and let God in. We may also see some pikas, marmots, and mountain goats. (Hopefully avoiding any bears.) Included in this itinerary are UNESCO World Heritage sites, Yoho National Park and Lake Louise, along with Kootenay and Banff National Parks.
This will be a unique experience to explore, both metaphorically and geographically with the companionship of a close circle of members and friends of Kenilworth Union. We will begin our days with prayer and reflection. Our overnight accommodations will comfort and pamper you. You may hike as far or as little as you like each day with attentive support from our tour company, Backroads. They took such great care of us last year when we walked the Camino de Santiago that it was an easy choice to select them again.
This private group is from Sept 9–14, 2018, starting and ending in Banff in Alberta, Canada.
Here are a few details:
- With sixteen members, the cost will be $3,517 per person. It is a small group, so please get your reservation in soon.
- Please contact Backroads directly to place a deposit—and let me know!
- The trip does not include airfare. You have the flexibility to travel on any carrier you desire, perhaps use some miles you have saved, or extend the trip to sample a few more trails.
