Louisa May Alcott
Louisa May Alcott presented by Leslie Goddard, award winning actress and scholar, will portray Louisa May Alcott on the 150th anniversary Little Women. Come enjoy a holiday Christmas lunch with your friends followed by a program that will transport you back to the 19th Century to meet Louisa May, who came from a politically active family, a pulp fiction writer, a war-time nurse, and wrote for a women’s rights periodical. Leslie Goddard gives a voice to women from the past with fascinating stories.
Leslie Goddard holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University specializing in American studies and U.S. history as well as a master’s degree in theater. She is a former museum director, and is the author of two books on history and currently works full-time as an author and public speaker. Her programs have been presented for hundreds of museums, libraries, senior centers, clubs, and other organizations around the country.
