Kenilworth Union Church members and friends are invited to gather for the Annual Benefit fundraiser in support of 40 benevolence agencies supported by the Church.

The evening begins with a social hour when guests will mingle while enjoying wine and appetizers. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a wine cork pull when they may purchase a ticket to receive a randomly selected bottle of quality wine. Dinner is provided by Michigan Shores Club. During dessert, a live auction offers opportunities to bid on items ranging from travel to sporting events.

Throughout the evening, guests can mingle with representatives of three featured benevolence agencies: Breakthrough, Crusher’s Club, and Haven Youth and Family Services.

Breakthrough is intentionally located in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on Chicago’s west side and each year serves over 5,000 individuals through initiatives that focus on housing, education, health and wellness, workforce development, violence prevention, and spiritual development. Crushers Club Video

Since 2013 over 350 youth have attended Crushers Club, including over 90 who have been justice involved. The program also serves those who are at risk of becoming involved in the juvenile justice system. By mimicking the gang model and utilizing boxing and music versus drugs and guns, Crushers Club redeems the highest risk boys and young men residing in the Englewood and West Englewood communities. Crushers serves our mission, to be the strongest alternative to gangs by providing the support and skills needed to restore their lives and rebuild their communities. We have employed over 90 youth since opening our doors and keep up to 25 youth at a time employed to provide ownership, a daily purpose, and a sense of belonging!

Haven Youth and Family Services Video

Haven Youth and Family Services has fostered mental health of youth and their families in the community for over 40 years. As a small group of licensed counselors and social workers, Haven provides in-office individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents and adults who reside in the North Shore. Students in area schools also receive in-school psychoeducation provided by Haven workers on topics such as “College 101,” “Stress and Anxiety,” or “Healthy Relationships.” When a family is in crisis, Haven assists families in resolving the issue 24-hours a day. Haven never turns a family away due to their inability to pay, and prides itself upon being a safe place for teens and their families while they navigate through adolescence.
