Renowned as one of the foremost adoption agencies in the country, since 1923 The Cradle has helped place more than 16,000 children into permanent, loving homes. The Cradle’s typical expectant parent is age 18-28, single, in her 3rd trimester, uninsured, already parenting, and with little or no support at home to care for a newborn. Eighty-five percent of them are also low to very low income. The Cradle provides expectant parents with options counseling and emotional support via skilled social workers to empower their own, educated parenting decisions, for free, without obligation or pressure to complete an adoption plan. The Cradle provides long-term, wraparound support for everyone in the adoption circle, including expectant parents, adoptive parents, and adopted persons. The Cradle is the only adoption agency nationally with an on-site Nursery, and provides online training for prospective adoptive parents and adoption professionals.
La Casa Norte
The founders of La Casa Norte started the organization with a basic tenet that has guided LCN’s work over the last 16 years—that when individuals work collaboratively, demonstrate empathy, cultivate mutual respect, provide access to resources and opportunity, and create a just experience for all, youth will be empowered to create change within themselves, their families and society overall. Now 16 years later, La Casa Norte has evolved into an organization with six locations and a staff of 82 dedicated professionals, serving more than 30,000 people from 43 Chicago zip codes—empowering them to move towards housing stability, financial security, and self-sufficiency.
YWCA Evanston/North Shore
YWCA Evanston/North Shore is a social justice organization with an 80-year history of advocacy for women and children and service to our communities. Everything done is based on the belief that all women have the right to be safe and choose the direction of their lives. Women come in times of crisis, as survivors of domestic violence. They come for career counseling, for leadership development, and for financial literacy. More than 30,000 people in northeastern suburban Chicagoland are reached every year by YWCA Evanston/North Shore services, programs, and events. We combine programming and advocacy in order to generate institutional change in four key areas: freedom from gender violence, women’s economic advancement, racial and gender equity, and aquatics access and opportunity.
At the Benefit there are five opportunities to give to our 39 agencies:
$2,500, $1,000, $500, $250 and $100.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
