There are many opportunities for parents to support the youth ministries program.
Middle School Youth Group (MSYG) We need parents to send snacks each week. We also need a "snack coordinator" to schedule the snack volunteer calendar and communicate with snack volunteers.
Junior High Youth Group (JYG)-We need parents to send snacks each week, dinners once a month and to volunteer from time to time as chaperones or drivers for JYG activities or local trips. We also need a coordinator for each of the following: snacks, dinners and general volunteer pool. Coordinators fill in volunteer calendars and communicate with the volunteers on behalf of the JYG staff.
(YG)-We need parent volunteers for two scheduled events. The firs is the Mission Trip Sponsored Brunch held in the fall. We need two coordinators and a team of volunteers to plan and execute the brunch, which honors those who sponsored our summer mission trip. The second will be for the Holiday Soup and Bread Dinner in December. This dinner is a community event that raises funds for next summer's mission trip. Again, two coordinators and a team of volunteers are needed to make this event a success. Of course high schoolers need snacks too. So we need parents to send in snacks to our weekly YG meetings. We also need a volunteer coordinator who can pull together other parents as needed for special events.
Confirmation Mentors-We need adult KUC members to serve as confirmation mentors. As a mentor, you will not be paired with your own child, but will help another confirmation student on his or her faith journey. Mentors meet with their student 3-4 times over the course of the confirmation year to discuss questions of faith.
