The Alison Tobey Smart Memorial Fund was established by Jackson and Sue Smart after their daughter, Alison, tragically took her life at the age of 17. The Memorial Fund seeks to promote the spiritual, educational, and emotional well-being of adolescents and their families.
Over the last 30 years, the Fund’s focus has expanded from depression and self-destructive behavior to incorporate issues such as self-worth, decision making, problem solving, service and communication. We co-sponsor important Family Action Network programs in our local New Trier Township community and support many Kenilworth Union Church youth activities from the Youth Choir retreat to the IMPACT mission trips.
In the highly-charged academic and social environment of the North Shore, the ATS Memorial Fund supports and celebrates the blessings of imperfection.
Alison Tobey Smart Service Awards: The Alison Tobey Smart Committee is recognizing the outstanding work of young adults at Kenilworth Union who have generously given their time and energy to make a difference in the lives of Church youth. The recipients are young, adult members of Kenilworth Union Church who have been advisers for the Kenilworth Union youth groups and have helped as chaperons on retreats and service trips. We truly appreciate all that they do for the young people of this community.
