Youth Ministries : Confirmation

At Kenilworth Union Church, we invite all freshmen to participate in the KUC Confirmation Program: Seeds of Faith. Confirmation is a Christian rite conferring the gifts of the Holy Spirit and full Church membership. In Protestant Churches, such as Kenilworth Union Church, the rite is seen as a maturing statement of faith by an already baptized young adult, and thus a rite of passage. Through this established, ceremonial, religious act, the rite changes the person’s status in the community.

In less formal terms, confirmation is a journey of Christian formation and transformation, learned and lived for 6 months and culminating in membership at KUC. This year, 9th graders will learn what it means to be a Christian, not only by talking about faith and the church, but also by participating in worship, building relationships and serving others. At the end of this process, we pray that the faith of the youth may be strengthened and that they will know that even in times of doubt, they are loved and valued as part of our church community.
