We pause, O God, and in pausing we sense your presence here with us. Here, where you meet us is the center of everything. Here, a light dawns, a fountain springs up, the heart is moved. Here we find inspiration, hope, purpose, fellowship, love. Here you bless our work, confront us with our fears and failure, give us comfort in the midst of our anxieties and hope for the future. You are God, and in that one realizatopm. our lives are changed. You are God and when we bow before you and energy flows into our lives, a spirit beyond any spirit we have ever known flows into our lives. Teach us to pause before you and find life, not only here but wherever we are. Let this simple act transform us for engagement in the world because it has transformed the way we see the world.

We pray God, that you would anoint our president and his staff with uncommon wisdom. Grant that the present disorders or our society may soon be given a new order that reflects the teachings of your kingdom. Give hope and encouragement to our sick, expecially those in hospitals and nursing homes, and healing of spirit to those who have lost loved ones. We pray for those whom we name before you now in silence. Show us how to be better ministers to one another, and to the poor and homeless of our society. Help us to reflect upon those sayings and writings that will inspire us to right living, and to pause often in our lives to be filled wit your presence. Here we offer our worship to you, in song and prayer and thought and silence; accept it as our gift and let us be transformed in the giving of it we pray, in the name and spirit of Jesus who taught us to pray... Our Father.
