Outreach & Service : Annual Benefit

This annual spring event is a wonderful evening of fellowship, dinner, silent and live auctions. The funds raised from the Outreach Benefit go to help all the organizations that KUC supports. The Programs supported by our Outreach Benefit improve the lives of countless people in need and 100% of the proceeds from this event go directly to the agencies. Traditionally four of the agencies that KUC supports are highlighted at the benefit. Last year, the focus was on education, and the following agencies were present at KUC on the Sundays leading up to the benefit and attended the actual event: Merit Music, Holy Trinity High School, Holy Family School and Umoja Student Development. By featuring a few of the agencies that KUC supports at this annual fundraiser, it helps our congregants to become knowledgeable of some of these great organizations and the valuable work that they do. Last year, the Outreach Benefit raised $57,700.

This year we are highlighting four agencies:

Sarah’s Circle: Is a refuge for women who are homeless or in need of a safe space. Provides housing assistance, case management, referral services, and life necessities.

Family Matters: Provides tutoring, after school care, and parent forums. Advocates for low income residents.

Youth Organization Umbrella (Y.O.U): Provides an array of academic social and emotional developmental services that respond to the unmet needs of the young people they serve.

Casa Central: Serves the Hispanic community through daycare, after school care, family enrichment programs, low income senior housing, and nursing care.
