The Rite of Confirmation will take place on Sunday, April 15 at the 10:30 a.m. worship. The confirmands have spent the year worshiping, serving, and learning about God-in-community and now they will stand before you on Sunday to say “yes” to God and “yes” to membership in the Church. Please save the date to be with us to confirm and affirm them.
Teens entering ninth grade and above are invited to participate in one of two confirmation options: the Wilderness Course or the Centennial Classroom Course.
Each course is a journey of spiritual formation and transformation; a time spent integrating worship, holy conversation, community relationships and servant leadership that culminates in the Rite of Confirmation on Confirmation Sunday each year and in full church membership.
Centennial Confirmation Program
The Centennial Classroom Course is a traditional confirmation format in which students attend a series of Sunday morning classes, attend additional information sessions and events, and participate in a full-day confirmation retreat. Minimum age: students entering the 9th grade in fall of 2017.
Wilderness Confirmation Program
This program is designed both to teach an intensive version of the Confirmation curriculum, and to experience the wilderness as a co-teacher, where the lakes and forests, trails and winds themselves offer up wisdom about God and God’s world.
