Our new format for the Emerging Leaders Under Faith & Leadership series includes more interaction and greater focus on learning how leaders apply their Christian principles their lives and careers. Programs are geared toward young professionals, ages 27–35, and are held in Chicago.
John’s extensive career in public service includes over a dozen years working at the federal, state and city levels of government. These include senior positions with then-U.S. Congressman and current Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel, current U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley, and current Illinois State Senate President John Cullerton.
He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Chicago Lights, a community organization aimed at combating poverty. John is in his third year serving as an Elder of the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of The N Club, for former letter-winning varsity athletes at Northwestern University.

The Chicago Bar Shop is a showroom for custom built bars, repurposed wood furnishings, digital signage, and more. Owner Declan Morgan has been the force behind many Chicago Irish pubs and upscale bars, and he’s opened up his space just for our group. So we get to enjoy an exclusive bar space, free from all the hassles of a crowd or cover charge.
