As a pastor with a distinct call to minister to children and youth, it might not come as surprise that I am curious about how we pass on a spirit of generosity to the next generation. How do we learn to inhabit the call to give? How is philanthropy born within each of us? Who teaches us?
In order to investigate this further, I have conducted a series of interviews, asking “who inspired your generosity?” So often, family members are the first to offer us a vision of generosity, but sometimes it is a mentor or a friend, or even a stranger, who makes a deep impact on the way we decide to give. Who inspired your generosity? I’d love to know.
