Then let us all do what is right, strive with all our might toward the unattainable, develop as fully as we can the gifts God has given us, and never stop learning. —Ludwig van Beethoven
Beethoven’s righteous words describe our journey of learning Beethoven’s Mass in C Major. Our dedicated Chancel Choir has been working very hard this church season to bring you their very best, all to glorify God. This Masterwork is being offered for worship this Sunday, May 1 at the 9 and 10:30 a.m. services. We will be singing five of the six movements. Our orchestra is comprised of the talented Susan Klotzbach on organ, and outstanding Northwestern University musicians. Through ancient Greek and Latin text, the vibrant sounds of our adult choir will communicate Beethoven’s faith and reverence for God. Alyssa Bennett, Emily Barnash, Amanda Koopman, Quinn Middleman, David Honore, Jonathan Wilson, and Nikolas Wenzel will also be featured singing delightful and passionate quartets as the choirs echo their prayers. We give thanks to Bob Malott for sponsoring this special music event. We are so blessed to be able to experience this Beethoven Masterwork. To sing to God is also to serve Him. Please join us for worship this Sunday, as we bring glory and honor to His name.
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! —Psalm 100:1
