Alison Tobey Smart Memorial Fund and Programs
The Alison Tobey Smart Memorial Fund was established by Jackson and Sue Smart after their daughter, Alison, tragically took her life at the age of 17. The Memorial Fund provides programs promoting the spiritual, educational, and emotional well-being of our adolescents and their families. The fund also provides scholarship support to KUC youth for retreats and mission trip programs.
Recent programs have included a panel discussion on “The Price of Privilege”, Current High School Trends presentation by Melanie Flynn, Making the Transition from Tweens to Teens workshop, Discovering New Definitions of Success for our Children (offered in partnership with the FAN network).
Alison Tobey Smart Service Awards: The Alison Tobey Smart Committee is recognizing the outstanding work of young adults at KUC who have generously given their time and energy to make a difference in the lives of KUC youth. The recipients are young, adult members of KUC who have been advisors for the KUC youth groups and have helped as chaperones on retreats and service trips. We truly appreciate all that they do for the young people of this community. Awards for 2011-2012 will be given on Youth Sunday, May 20th.
