A Mother's Day Out Program was started in 1987 to provide a place in the church to take care of our children while mothers ran errands or took time for themselves. The program was a very welcome part of the week for many mothers and children. In 1993, it was extended to include a Christian Preschool for our membership. Parents had expressed interest in augmenting the Christian nurture and education of their children from Sunday morning into the week. Dr. Bowen was particularly interested in responding to our young families. The Christian Education Department of Kenilworth Union Church was in complete agreement and supported the work for the first year (1993) as we studied and planned for our opening of the 1994-1995 school year.
The Board of Trustees of the church has been consistently supportive of our school from the beginning and includes A Joyful Noise as a vital ministry of our church. Our church family is dedicated to early Christian nurture of children and young families. To be named as a child of God, as learning begins, holds the promise of making a profound difference. To join other parents on weekdays coming to school at church centers us in our journey.
